Seeking a professional, self-motivated and hands-on Controller that is willing to immerse themselves in the Company’s operations to fully understand the Company from the inside out and assist management in executing the business plan and improving financial results. The Controller is directly responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. The Controller is expected to provide sound/insightful guidance, support, and feedback on business matters in a team, and collaborative culture. The Controller will manage the daily operations of the accounting including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, sales reporting and oversees inventory accounting related items (cycle counts, processes, controls, etc.). The Controller reports to the President directly.
Coordinates the preparation of monthly and periodic financial statements
Assists with the compilation of daily, monthly and periodic reports to the Exec Mgmt. Team.
Develops and maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of the Company’s accounting policies and procedures, financial systems, transaction processes, and internal controls and formally documents them in policies and procedures manuals.
Performs analytical review of balance sheets and income statements
Prepares thoughtful review comments for executive level communications.
Prepares and/or reviews reconciliations of gl and subsidiary accounts and resolves discrepancies.
Analyzes and reconciles revenue and expenses.
Directs fixed asset accounting activities including maintenance of the fixed asset sub ledger system, posting asset additions, disposals, and transfers, reconciling to the general ledger, and calculating book/tax depreciation.
Directs accounts payable activities including the review of invoices and vouchers for proper approvals, coding, and accounting treatment.
Assess the impact of new accounting regulations and pronouncements on the Company and properly applies GAAP and other comprehensive basis of accounting in the conduct of daily work and develops and maintains effective internal controls.
Interacts with operations staff while providing excellent customer service.
Continuously challenges current processes as the business evolves to suggest and implement improvements in policy, procedure and systems. Perform and report on all the company's physical inventories
Quarterly industry analysis and charts.
Review of product margins on a daily basis and make recommendations to management.
Completes special projects as assigned including system implementation, integration, conversion and process improvement activities, various analyses and reporting, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting.
CPA certification not required, but is considered a plus.
Minimum five years’ experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager in corporate department.
Highly committed, reliable and competent professional.

Possess strong technical abilities in financial information systems/applications.
