Provides leadership to assigned management team and employees and ensures human resource objectives are aligned with business strategic goals through effective employee relations, compensation, staffing, training, organizational development, safety and change management strategies. Fosters employee involvement at all levels.
Major Responsibilities:
Oversees the implementation of HR policies and programs related to compensation, employment law, employee health and safety, OSHA compliance, benefits, worker’s compensation, wage and salary, training, organizational and management development.
Serves as primary contact to ensure effective employee relations in matters of supervision, discipline, discharge, motivation, promoting a non-union environment, performance evaluation procedures, practice and polices.
Ensures management practices are consistent with all federal, state and local employment legislation and regulations.
Ensures all necessary documentation is maintained.
Develops and maintains workforce planning and forecasting documents to ensure short and long-term staffing levels are aligned to business objectives.
Participates in the recruiting process, which includes job posting, interviewing and assessment, candidate selection, employment offer, and conducting new employee orientation.
Counsels managers regarding procedures, interviewing techniques, employment legislation impacting recruitment practices and compensation parameters.
Manages affirmative action plans, strategic inclusion plans and compliance.
Assists management with investigations and reviews of workers compensation claims.
Partners with management team to identify organizational development and training needs.
Plans, assigns, and reviews work of staff to ensure that group objectives are met.
Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 5 plus years HR generalist experience to include employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, employment legislation and staffing.
Knowledge of organizational development strategies
Excellent communication, organization, facilitation and creative problem solving skills are also required.
