Summary
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the General Ledger, budgeting and financial statement preparation and review, and other special projects to support operations and management with our continued growth. Exciting time for an Oil Field Services Company with National growth.
Major Responsibilities:
Mentor and develop the accounting team.
Manage the general ledger, prepares financial statements, establish policy and procedure over general accounting activities and implements best practices.
Supervise a team of professionals as relates to: accounting processes, preparation and posting of journal entries, review of financial statements and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Develops and maintains thorough knowledge and understanding of Accounting policies, financial systems, transaction processes, and internal controls.
Responsible for timely completion of the month end close process.
Make certain that GAAP and internal accounting controls are being properly applied.
Prepare and/or review account analyses and monthly analytical reviews of balance sheets and income statements.
Assists with the budget and forecast functions.
Serve as a liaison to internal and external auditors
Prepare and review audit work papers for internal and external auditors.
Complete special projects as requested
Position Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification or advanced degree a plus.
Minimum of 5 years progressive accounting experience
Understanding and expertise in the area of Budgeting and Accounting systems
Exceptional analytical skills and detail oriented
Process development experience a plus
Excellent communication skills. Must be capable of interacting with all levels of personnel in the organization, as well as third parties.
Self-starter who is willing to accept responsibility and ownership for their function within the company.
Experience in a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial environment preferred.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and workload effectively
Excellent time management skills
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership and people skills
